A fifty-year-old bank president was forced to take a leave of absence from her job due to uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension.

With a lot of hard work and help from her doctors she was able to return to work after about two years. Find out how Social Security Disability Attorney Patrick Hartwig was able to get her social security disability benefits for the time she was out of work.

Mona was a banker for over 26 years and had risen to the level of president in her organization. But because of uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension, Mona was forced to take a leave of absence from work. Mona did not contact Patrick until she had already been out of work for over eight months, because she was unsure if she could even apply for social security disability.

Patrick immediately got to work. He helped file Mona’s disability application while she continued to treat her impairments aggressively. She did everything the doctor’s told her, led a healthy lifestyle, and was able to return to work before even having a social security disability hearing. However, they were able to proceed with the case. Patrick helped convince the judge that, although Mona was back at work, she qualified as disabled during the two-year window she was out of work. The judge agreed Mona was entitled to retroactive benefits and Mona got some very much needed help for the time she was out of work.
